I currently produce wooden products with hand painted dog portraits in three basic forms:
Dog feeding stands with circular cutout and ceramic feed dish set into the seat in front of portrait
- Portraits painted on wood in free standing or wall-hanging form
Each chair, feeding stand or portrait stands over 24 inches tall with the height of the seat itself about 9-1/2 inches; overall width is about 11-1/2 inches. The chairs are sturdy and durable—and meant for use by children. Each chair or free-standing portrait is a one-of-a-kind, commissioned and signed work. (No copies, prints or giclee reproductions). All products made and painted entirely in Sisters, Oregon, USA.
The hand painted acrylic portraits of the purchaser’s dog (or dog breed of their choice) are custom painted and are protected by a 3 coat lacquer finish. All paint products used are lead-free.
All Sitting Dog products are fabricated exclusively from imported Radiate Pine. This is a fast growing renewable resource produced on large established plantations in New Zealand. Clear Radiata pine is a strong, knot-free wood with beautiful light coloring and grain patterns. It readily accepts acrylic artist's paint applied directly to the wood, as well as many other finishes. For our products, those surfaces not covered by the portrait may be finished in solid colors or in a beautiful natural finish.

Include cutout in seat for feeding bowl (includes ceramic feeding bowl-- See photo below). Add $25
Free standing life-sized dog portrait painted on wood, up to 28 inches high & 12 inches wide (See photo below): $300. Additional cost may apply for life-sized portrait larger than 12 x 28 (Please inquire). Price includes hinged back-stand.
